Freestanding Elements

Freestanding elements to make your playground complete, inviting, and extra appealing!

When it comes to designing and putting together an inclusive, high-quality playground that appeals to children of all ages and abilities, you need to install more than the obvious central structure. After all, a playground structure can only accommodate so many users at once. The others either have to wait for someone to finish playing so they can take their spot—or have fun with the freestanding playground equipment you’ve installed.

Freestanding slides, play towers, and rope bridges for playgrounds.

American Playground Company’s inventory of freestanding elements allows you to pick out a smattering of independent installations to entertain as many kids as possible. Say your main playground structure has a slide; the slide can only be used by children currently on the structure. However, if you have independent slides elsewhere, more kids can participate in this time-tested recipe for fun.

Other freestanding items include:

  • rope bridges
  • play towers
  • dinosaur-shaped fixtures for climbing,
  • zip lines

By including these elements, you can make your playground all the more appealing—as kids note and remember that they have multiple play methods to choose from.
